PET OF THE WEEK

Pets of the Week from Project Hope Humane Society in Metropolis are Candy and Snickers, two female German Shepherd mix pups, about 9 months old, already spayed, ready to be adopted with updated shots and heartworm testing. These girls would love to "sweeten" your life, as they are very friendly and playful. Also waiting for adoption are several cats, kittens, and large and small breed dogs. Project Hope is currently selling cookbooks, $10 each, available at Metropolis Drugs II, Twice As Nice Resale, and at the shelter itself. For more info call 618-524-8939, Tuesday -Saturday, between the hours of 1-5 p.m.

Aluminum cans for recyling are accepted anytime at Project Hope No-Kill Animal Shelter. Large blue barrels located on the front porch make it easy to drive by and drop off your clean, bagged cans. And remember, not only drink cans, but many cat food cans are reclyable aluminum. Just no foil or aluminum pie pans, please.

Go green for Project Hope and the animals in its care!
